This art work is very based on the term of people, walking in the area SOHO. SOHO,is already becomes a symbol of fashion, art and a unique life style sought after by others. This should be all attributed to SOHOers. galleries, creative companies, theaters, cafes are everywhere in this area, people walks in a store  and disappeared around the corner, with their very unique and impressive style. When I starting at them, I had some incredible feeling of amazing interlace between SOHO, their rail of life and mine, with all the stories behind.This combination, creativity, diversity and vitality of culture, art and life, made by people based there, is the inspirit of SOHO.So,we decided to create something about people in SOHO. We did a lot life drawing about the walkers around. Most of them have hurried pace with  their own lovely and distinct style of dressing. We observed of these pedestrians from day to night, from noisy ,busy to quiet and peace.

 

Then, we simplify this human dynamics and shapes of their dressing  in a side view,using strong sketch lines drew by computer, put them in the whole frame of window in the Location 1, and make them move from empty to crowed and empty again shows the changes of SOHO from fast but also very regular rhythm in a daily whole day time.

 

There could a reflection and metaphor from walking people that be sketched in the window to the people walking in the real life. Meanwhile, we wish that from presenting our work, SOHOer could have a look back on their own and even just for one second, they could be  confident and proud of what they build of the sprint of  SOHO.

From the inspiration of ‘walking in soho” , the art work has a clear aim about what to present. In that video, about 70 different people shape and costumes shows in a same side view which is quiet deep and various description of the the walking people in soho. The technique the I used is very rough sketch. there is a advance in the line made by sketch which is easily for presenting the joints and emphases of both the structure and  clothes.  I made the whole video to be monochrome, but not colorful, the separate cells as well, is for illustrating the possibilities of the colors in the images. For instance, if you recognize a short old lady, you may have an imagination of thee elegant earth tone of her. However, because it is a kind of transform from 2D painting to 3D animation, I tried to make their walking more naturally. Every muscle on a person would be ready for moving when this one want to walk. When you try to take your left leg, the direction of your body and your arm swing orientation might be different from other gestures. I did not do that movement, so if you looking at the video carefully, you will find that their legs are not moving.  It is not be finished yet. At the same time, I am thing about the background behind the people in walking. Maybe moving image from now side to the other side, or slightly moving small objects on one image.
